Rural Institution for Community Development (RICOD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 1995 and based in Lalitpur, Nepal. RICOD works to build a fair and Impartial community for well-being of all by empowering communities, particularly women, children, youth, older persons, minority groups, and people with special needs. The organization's key thematic areas include primary health care, nutrition, education, food security, climate change adaptation, and humanitarian response.
Over the years, RICOD has implemented community-centered programs that have improved maternal and child nutrition, strengthened health and hygiene practices, enhanced food security, promoted sustainable livelihoods, and supported disaster-affected communities. Through partnerships with national and international organizations, RICOD continues to foster local leadership, resilience, and inclusive development.
Strong and resilient communities are the foundation of sustainable development. RICOD's work helps vulnerable populations access essential services, improve their livelihoods, and actively participate in decisions that affect their lives. By addressing health, nutrition, education, food security, and climate challenges in an integrated manner, RICOD contributes to reducing poverty, promoting social justice, and creating opportunities for long-term community well-being.
